With more than a decade of experience, my academic and my professional work make me an expert in grassroots advocacy, strategic planning, and alliance development. Born and raised in Indiana, I loved science and reading from an early age. These passions lead me to pursue a dual degree in microbiology and political theory from Indiana University, and a Masters of Public Policy with a concentration in social policy from George Mason University.

In my career, I have gained non-profit organizing experience with organizations such as the National Association for Biomedical Research, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the American Lung Association of Washington DC. I have also worked as a consultant with Rescue, the Behavior Change Company, and Rational 360, where I was responsible for developing and running campaigns, building community alliances to support policy solutions, and leveraging social media to influence key decision makers in policy debates.

I have also devoted my time and expertise to several volunteer organizations. I was a founding member of Making Strides for MS, the former young professionals' board for the Washington DC chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. I also served as the Communications Chair for the DC Tobacco Free Coalition and on the Lupus and Allied Diseases Association board.
In my personal time, I love to rock climbing, cycle and work with dogs. My dog, Bindi, is currently working on becoming therapy certified - my goal is to volunteer with her to help children learn to read. Additionally, I work part-time as a Wag! walker where I specialize in helping my clients with dogs that have low-level behavioral issues.
